NB: The data reported in the paper by Molleman, Kurvers and Van den Bos (Evolution and Human Behaviour, 2019) is based on American participants recruited from Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk). The task was advertised as a Human Intelligence Task (HIT), in which participants could earn $1.00 for their participation. Participants knew that they could earn a bonus on top of their participation fee, and the amount of that bonus depended on their decisions in the task.
